Before your treatment with Ultherapy® in NYC at Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery, you will have a consultation with a provider.
Our specialist examines your treatment areas and discusses your skin concerns with you so we can determine if this is the best treatment for you.
We will also help you establish expectations for Ultherapy®. Typically, patients need one treatment and more as needed for maintenance.
Before your treatment, we will give you either an oral or ProNox anesthetic to minimize any pain and discomfort during your treatment.
Your provider will begin the process, which lasts between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on the treatment areas.
When we apply the Ultherapy® ultrasound energy to the skin, it produces Thermal Coagulation Points (TCPs). This triggers collagen production and produces a skin tightening effect.
With Ultherapy®, there is simply no recovery time. You can get right back to your regular activities such as work, school or leisure.
There are no incisions, so there is no scarring to worry about or cover up. We suggest that you be cautious of spending too much time in the sun and wear appropriate sunscreen.
This advice goes for everyone, whether or not they have undergone Ultherapy®. Your Ultherapy results will last for up to 2 years, when we would recommend regular maintenance treatments.

Does Ultherapy® hurt?
Because there can be discomfort with Ultherapy®, we prefer giving our patients anesthetic. You will need to have someone to pick you up if you receive the oral anesthetic; no escort is needed with Pronox.
How much does Ultherapy® in NYC cost?
No two Ultherapy® treatments are the same, since this is a highly customized procedure. The number of areas treated in a single visit will affect the cost of Ultherapy®. You will receive a full quote for your treatment during your confidential consultation.
Is it true that Ultherapy® works on the same layer of tissue as a surgical facelift?
Yes. You can see the layers of the face being treated during Ultherapy®, where the Ultrasound is focused to heat and tighten the SMAS layer, the same one that we lift for a facelift.
Is there downtime from Ultherapy®?
There is no downtime for Ultherapy®. Many patients return to work the next day following , and even go out to dinner that night. Some patients experience some mild swelling or bruising. Because of this, we advise that you do not get this treatment before an important function.
What kind of results should I expect and how long do they last?
Our rule of thumb is that Ultherapy® will give you 25-30% of a facelift for 20% of the price. Treatment results should last one to two years.
Who makes the best candidate for Ultherapy®?
Dr. Pearlman suggests Ultherapy® for anyone whose skin appears loose or sagging, especially under the chin and around the neck, near the eyelids, or around the jaw. Those who have lost a significant amount of collagen will benefit heavily from Ultherapy®.
Ultherapy® is not a substitute for a surgical facelift, but it can help reverse the signs of aging in their early stages. It can also help prolong the results of a surgical facelift. Clients should be in good health, both mentally and physically, and have realistic expectations for improvement rather than perfection.
