Welcome to Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery for facial fillers in NYC on Park Avenue.

Our aesthetic experts can use facial fillers to treat superficial fine lines, facial folds and wrinkles, and facial volume loss. There are many types of injectable fillers available today. The most popular fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is an ingredient that naturally exists in the human body.

Restore Your Youth

Facial fillers replace the collagen and elastin that your body produces less of over time, this and repeated facial expression cause wrinkles.

Our aesthetic injectors use fillers to fill in wrinkles and facial depressions that may come with age. With new advanced options for facial fillers, we can choose the best product for your specific skin concern and longevity of results.

Our Method

Medium Depth Fillers

Lift & Volume

We all want fillers to last as long as possible, but don’t want bumps or “pillow face” from over-injecting. Gradual, precise and pointed is our method. The most superficial lines, those that appear “etched” into the skin require the thinnest fillers. As the need for more volume replacement increases, fillers are placed deeper and can be thicker. Medium thickness fillers are used for actual folds in the skin and deeper crevasses, such as the nasolabial folds. Nasolabial folds run from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth.

Medium-depth fillers also may be very effective for melo-labial folds that run downward from the corners of the mouth to the jaw; otherwise referred to as “marionette” lines. These thicker fillers are also longer lasting than the thin, superficial fillers.

Since there are a number of available fillers for fine and deep wrinkles, both may be used in the same patient, and in conjunction with one another. We often layer fillers in the same areas in order to plump folds and fill the lines that may lie in the depths of those folds.

The thicker-formula fillers are more geared for volume enhancement, best suited plumping techniques. As the face ages, the cheeks develop droopiness and hollowness. Patients may need lifting as well as volume. In younger patients, however, facelifts can often be delayed by filling the cheeks.

This can actually give a small lift as well and is called the “Liquid Facelift.” Of course, nothing substitutes for a beautiful and professional facelift if the goal is to elevate jowls or excess skin under the neck. But we can go a long way in making you look more refreshed by starting with facial fillers.

Facial Filler Procedure

Recovery

You will have a consultation with one of our facial filler specialists, where we will assess your facial structure to determine exactly where to add fillers for the most natural-looking results.

We will create a personalized treatment plan to address your needs and goals from facial fillers in NYC at our Manhattan office. This treatment plan will depend on the concerns you are treating, ranging from adding cheek or jawline definition, lip enhancement, or treating lines and wrinkles.

Your surgeon or aesthetic nurse will use a local anesthetic to numb the treatment area if they are treating your lips. Depending on the amount and areas of treatment for dermal filler, we will complete your treatment within 30 minutes, sometimes less. We’ll use our specified treatment plan to guide the process and ensure you are as comfortable as possible throughout. Once you’re finished, we will go over any guidelines to ensure the best recovery and results.

Because facial filler application is non-surgical, patients may return to their regular activities quickly after being treated. We advise you to skip the gym after your treatment, but going before is fine. Some minor swelling, redness, bruising, tenderness and discomfort is normal, but these side effects will diminish within 24 hours. A cool compress can help relieve any discomfort.

JUVEDÉRM®

JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC

Juvéderm® Ultra XC is a great facial filler product to treat medium depth wrinkles.

JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus

Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is one of our favorites to treat volume loss with a deep facial filler for up to 1 year or more.

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC & JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE™ XC

Dr. Pearlman was one of only a handful of elite surgeons selected as educators for the nationwide launch of this first-ever FDA approved injectable filler. This unique product adds instant volume to the cheek area.

Juvéderm Voluma® XC is best used as a deep filler for volume loss and as a large volume filler. Large volume filler is when a patient requires a larger quantity of facial volume enhancement. This may be due to excessive hollowness of the face from the effects of aging or to create a more contoured look in the cheeks or jawline.

We also use Volbella XC for very superficial lines and neck lines.

Restylane®

& Restylane® Lyft™

Restylane®

Though it’s an incredibly versatile product, the hottest new application for Restylane® is to fill dark circles under the eyes. Dark circles are often the result of fat bulging in the lower eyelid that is exaggerated by a hollow area called the “tear trough.” By placing Restylane® into this tear-trough, there is less shadow and therefore improvement in dark circles, making you look more rested and smooth.

Restylane® Lyft™

Restylane Lyft can significantly improve the appearance of the mid face by increasing cheek volume to improve contours and balance to the face. The goal is to achieve a natural appearance, with cheeks that are perfectly balanced with the temples and the jaw.

Restylane Lyft is made by Galderma, the makers of Restylane. Formerly known as Perlane, this treatment option is a hyaluronic gel that is injected into the cheeks to provide volume and lift to the treatment area.

RADIESSE®

Radiesse® is more of a longer lasting filler for deep facial folds and may even be used for volume enhancement. Radiesse® appears to last even longer than hyaluronic acid fillers for treatment of naso-labial folds and marionette lines. It provides immediate visual improvement common with other fillers, along with the benefit of long-lasting results.

This is because Radiesse® is made of very tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. These particles stimulate your own collagen to grow microspheres (particles) form a scaffold through which your body’s own collagen grows. We can also dilute Radiesse® to treat crepey skin in the neck, décolleté, knees, and arms.

Sculptra® Poly-L-Lactic Acid

Sculptra Aesthetic, also known as Poly-L-Lactic Acid, is a synthetic sugar made up of many individual lactic acid units. Lactic acid is a substance that is found naturally occurring in your body.

Sculptra Aesthetic is a safe, synthetic, biocompatible product that restores global facial volume to treat volume loss in areas such as the temples, mid-face, and nasolabial folds. Unlike traditional fillers, when injected deep into the dermis of the skin, Sculptra Aesthetic stimulates the body’s own collagen, creating fresh, new collagen and replacing that which is damaged with age, creating a rejuvenated result.

Fat Lipo-Transfer

With lipo-transfer technique, the provider injects the fat immediately after removing it from elsewhere in the body. We use fat lipo-transfer less than other facial filler products because lipo-transfer is similar to a surgical procedure in preparation and healing time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Facial Fillers

Does Juvéderm Voluma XC really last longer than any other filler?

Yes, JJuvéderm Voluma XC lasts longer than any other hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. The advantage of an HA filler is that it is not permanent and can be easily dissolved, and HA is a natural ingredient found in the human body. In some patients, Juvéderm Voluma XC may last up to two years.

How long does Restylane Lyft last?

The longevity of Restylane Lyft varies from patient to patient, and will depend on the severity of the concern being corrected, as well as your unique biology. However, patients can expect Restylane Lyft results that last up to 12 months.

What are the different types of facial fillers?

There are many facial fillers on the market. The fillers we choose are used for the specific area being treated: lines, folds, crevasses or frank volume loss. The most common are hyaluronic acid fillers (HA): Juvéderm®, Restylane®, JJuvéderm Voluma® XC

What happens if I do not like my facial fillers? Can facial fillers be removed?

We often see patients who are unhappy with the results of fillers from other practices. Luckily, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved by using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. We suggest waiting 1 to 2 weeks after your filler treatment since there can be swelling from the injection that appears as asymmetry or over treatment.

What is the cost of facial fillers in NYC?

Each patient will require a slightly different approach and number of injections to achieve comprehensive improvement, so costs will vary based on these factors as well as the brand of filler product. Dr. Pearlman or our providers will give you a complete quote for treatment during your confidential dermal fillers consultation in New York City. We will also help with financing options from a variety of reputable lenders.

What sets Sculptra apart from other facial fillers?

Sculptra is unique to other fillers in that it not only adds facial volume but increases the thickness and elasticity of your skin through boosted collagen production. Although the results are gradual, the subtle changes improve over time with repeated treatment. Most patients require a series of 2-3 treatment sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The gradual effects of Sculptra Aesthetic will build up over the course of each or your treatments in our New York office, providing a natural and often undetected improvement in facial appearance.

Who makes the best candidate for facial fillers?

Our injection experts say that the best candidate for facial fillers is

  • In good health, both physically and psychologically
  • Realistic in their expectations
  • In need of non-surgical cheek augmentation or lip enhancement
  • Suffering from unwanted smile lines or other facial lines
  • Over 21 years of age

Who makes the best Juvéderm candidates?

The best Juvéderm candidates are anyone who is fed up with hollow-looking cheeks, diminished facial volume and age-related facial sagging who can benefit greatly from treatment with Juvéderm Voluma XC. The only way to tell for sure if Voluma is right for your needs is to schedule a confidential consultation with a provider in the comfort and privacy of our NYC offices. In general, patients should be in good physical and emotional health, be non-smokers, and be realistic in their expectations for improvement.
