You’ll meet with Dr. Bassiri-Tehrani at our Park Avenue office for a consultation. His top priority is to always individualize his approach for every patient. During your confidential consultation for nipple reduction surgery, Dr. Bassiri-Tehrani will listen to your unique concerns and goals for the surgery. Based on these factors and an examination, we will create an individualized treatment plan.
We highly encourage you to ask questions during this consultation. If you are a woman planning on having children, your surgeon will go over how the chosen procedure may or may not affect breastfeeding. Our team will walk you through each step of the surgery and recovery process so you can feel comfortable and confident in your decision.
We will use local anesthesia for the surgery at our in-office OR. Nipple reduction surgery generally lasts between 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Dr. Bassiri-Tehrani will carry out your treatment plan; this could include a reduction in the projection and the circumference of one or both nipples.
Your recovery period lasts between 3 to 4 days, and you cannot workout for the 3 weeks following the operation as you heal. Dr. Bassiri-Tehrani, our Patient Care Coordinator, and the rest of the team will give you thorough guidance and support for your postoperative care.
