While there is no true replacement for a surgical rhinoplasty, Dr. Pearlman offers non-surgical rhinoplasty using a variety of dermal fillers to camouflage nasal humps, raise a drooping nasal tip, reshape irregular nasal contours, and more. It’s important to note that a non-surgical rhinoplasty cannot make the tip of the nose or a large hump smaller.

Piezo Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty is an advanced form of rhinoplasty that uses a high-frequency oscillating surgical tool to precisely sculpt and reduce nasal bumps without damaging adjacent soft tissue. The main draw of Piezo Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty is that it involves less trauma and bruising, leading to faster recovery and more precise results.

Teenage rhinoplasty can empower young patients through the emotional and psychological results of nose surgery, along with physical changes. A teenage rhinoplasty can improve conditions like a large nasal hump, wide and/or drooping nasal tip, wide nostrils, asymmetry, and lack of proportion.

A rhinoplasty is suitable for girls approximately by age 15 and boys at age 16—this is typically when their nose and other facial features are done growing. It is also an age where they are more capable of making a mature decision. Each individual is assessed for both physical and psychological needs.

An ethnic rhinoplasty creates a nose that suits a person’s ethnicity, gender, and underlying bone structure. Septoplasty, also known as Functional Nasal Surgery, is a nose surgery that corrects a deviated septum. Typically, Dr. Pearlman performs this surgery from inside the nose with a closed, scarless, or endonasal approach. He moves, scores, reshapes, or removes crooked cartilage and bone to correct the septum and improve functionality.

Septoplasty patients have a deviated septum that causes a continual nasal obstruction. They may feel like their nose is perpetually stuffy or blocked, affecting their comfort and ease of breathing. This can even lead to sleep issues. A septoplasty’s sole goal is to improve nasal function.

Some patients combine septoplasty and rhinoplasty, known as a septorhinoplasty. An important note: most insurance companies do not cover fees for a rhinoplasty, even when it is performed with a septoplasty. Dr. Pearlman can make his best recommendation for functional nasal surgery during an in-person rhinoplasty consultation in New York City.

Preservation rhinoplasty is a method that removes cartilage and bone beneath the outer shell of the nasal bone and cartilage, flattening out a nasal hump and creating a smooth, straight dorsum. This technique differs from classic rhinoplasty, which uses a number of methods to reduce a nasal hump by shaving off bone and cartilage.

The draw of preservation rhinoplasty is that it is generally less invasive. There is often no bone filed, chiseled, or whittled down with instruments, as it works from within, preserving the natural external structures of the nose. Revision rhinoplasty is a secondary or sometimes tertiary corrective rhinoplasty procedure. For many patients, this is often a more emotional process than other types of rhinoplasty, as previous rhinoplasty results were not ideal.

When Dr. Pearlman performs a closed rhinoplasty, he does not use external incisions. This hides all incisions hidden inside the nose, making them virtually undetectable.

For open rhinoplasty, the only difference is a tiny incision across the bottom of the nose that usually heals so well it is undetectable.

Your recovery time also largely depends on the type of nose surgery you receive. Our team will supply you with all the recovery information you need and will be there for questions or concerns as you heal.

We will schedule your first post-op visit with us for 1 week after surgery. For open rhinoplasty and alarplasty, during this visit we will remove the cast and any external sutures, as well as clean and carefully suction the nose internally.

Subsequent post-op visits are at 2 and 6 months and then 1 year results photographs. Most patients will see 85% of their results 1 month out, 95% of results at 6 months out, and 99% at 1 year.

Dr. Pearlman will meet with you for a rhinoplasty consultation in New York City to learn about your concerns, specific issues you want to resolve, and desired results.

He will then examine your nose inside and out. Dr. Pearlman will demonstrate potential changes to your nose and help you envision your results using advanced Mirror® 2D and Vectra® 3D imaging. This portion of your consultation is vital to your understanding of the potential changes and improvements. All of this information will be a part of an open dialogue between patient and doctor, with a conversation on how your results will appear with the rest of your facial features.

Dr. Pearlman and his office staff will be able to help you determine this with a personal consultation.
