Discover the Power of the Halo Laser in NYC
At Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery on Park Avenue, we’re empowering you to achieve dramatic skin renewal without dramatic downtime with the innovative Halo laser. As the world’s first hybrid-fractional laser, the Halo has changed the world of skin rejuvenation forever.
Harnessing the power of two powerful wavelengths, we address visible signs of skin damage while stimulating collagen production in your skin’s deeper layers. This dualistic approach offers long-lasting results you can see and feel, preserving your natural beauty without interrupting your routine.
Customized for Your Skin
Everyone’s skin is different. Everyone’s needs are different.
Some patients have a lot of sun damage and pigmentation, some are more concerned with redness and broken capillaries, and some want to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and enlarged pores.
Halo allows us to customize your laser skin rejuvenation treatment to fit your individual needs and lifestyle. We can now treat all 3 in a single session!
In the past, you had to choose between a procedure that offered significant results but had a long recovery, or a procedure with a fast recovery but insignificant results. With the Halo, you get the best of both worlds: amazing results with minimal recovery time. Halo laser uses a one-of-a-kind hybrid fractional technology for deep dermal rejuvenation. It renews your skin for a combined effect that you can’t get with any other treatment.

We always recommend scheduling a consultation before your first treatment with the Halo laser in NYC. This gives us the time to privately discuss your skin concerns and health history one-on-one.
Then, we perform a VISIA skin analysis to determine the source of your skin concerns—eliminating guesswork. VISIA measures wrinkles, brown and red spots, and pores, determining your skin’s age based on its quality. Based on your results, we determine if the Halo laser is your best option and create your personalized treatment plan.

While every patient’s Halo laser procedure is unique, the treatment itself typically takes 60 minutes. Before we begin, your provider applies a topical numbing agent to minimize any discomfort.
Then, we glide the Halo device over your skin, delivering pulses of ablative and non-ablative energy simultaneously. Drawing from our expertise in skin anatomy and our findings from your consultation, we adjust the device’s settings to your specific needs and goals.
Your provider will use a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort as we perform the treatment, ensuring you are comfortable throughout the procedure.

Most patients recover from Halo treatments within 3 to 6 days. During this time, you may experience mild swelling, redness, or flaking—signs that your skin is responding to the laser as expected.
Before you leave our office, we provide detailed aftercare instructions and answer your questions to ensure you feel confident caring for your skin as it heals. While downtime is minimal, following these simple instructions can expedite skin renewal and protect your long-term results.
Where Precision Meets Possibility
Structural Skin Remodeling
Every year, your skin produces less collagen and elastin, gradually weakening your skin’s internal framework and making it more prone to damage. Using the Halo laser in NYC, we repair your skin’s underlying structure to restore its strength from within.
The Halo laser’s non-ablative wavelengths gently reach beneath your skin’s surface and into the middle layer of skin, where your body creates collagen and elastin. Here, that laser energy converts into thermal energy, which stimulates the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. Meanwhile, Halo’s ablative wavelengths create controlled “micro-injuries” on your skin’s surface to trigger your natural healing response, also increasing collagen and elastin production.
Gentle Skin Resurfacing
Your skin is constantly shedding and replacing its cells, letting go of damaged skin and bringing stronger, healthier cells to the surface. However, this process—known as your skin’s cellular turnover rate—slows down with age and repeated sun exposure.
Using the Halo laser, our professionals carefully remove the damaged, outermost layers of skin to bring your radiance to the surface. Combining ablative and non-ablative wavelengths, we adjust the device’s settings to target concerns such as sun spots, fine lines, and uneven texture at the source, maximizing your results with minimal downtime. So, while Halo technology is incredible, its effectiveness depends entirely on the expertise guiding your treatment.
Strength You Can Feel
You’ll notice your skin feels smoother within a few days of treatment, but your skin is far from finished rebuilding. Halo’s resurfacing wavelengths remove dead and damaged cells from your skin’s surface, working quickly to make your skin softer to the touch.
However, Halo isn’t just a surface-level treatment, and the remodeling process is gradual. Your body produces more collagen and elastin for weeks after treatment, restoring your skin’s resiliency and firmness over time.
Radiance You Can See
You may notice skin damage on the surface, but visible changes can be rooted in any layer of your skin. Drawing from our deep anatomical knowledge and your skin analysis results, we fine-tune the Halo device’s settings to address your concerns at the root.
The power of the Halo laser in NYC lies in its versatile hybrid laser technology. While we use ablative wavelengths to remove the surface-level imperfections clouding your glow, the simultaneous non-ablative wavelengths reduce wrinkles and improve elasticity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Halo Laser
Can I combine Halo with other treatments?
Absolutely! At Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery, we understand that your skin goals, routine, and anatomy are unique, so we don’t take a standardized approach to skin rejuvenation. During your consultation, we’ll craft a plan that aligns with your specific needs, accounting for logistics like your schedule.
Here, every patient’s treatment plan for the Halo laser in NYC is unique. Some patients may achieve their vision to reduce the appearance of sunspots and restore their skin’s firmness from the Halo laser alone. However, other treatment plans may consist of additional services and procedures to achieve the most seamless, balanced results.
For example, we may combine Halo with dermal fillers to restore lost volume, or recommend microneedling with PRP to further refine your skin’s texture. Patients who have undergone cosmetic surgery, such as a facelift, can also benefit from Halo, as the Halo laser improves your skin for more comprehensive, long-term rejuvenation.
Can the Halo laser remove scars?
While the Halo laser doesn’t physically remove scar tissue like in a scar revision procedure, it can significantly minimize scars’ appearance. At Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery, our professionals use the Halo device’s ablative wavelengths to smooth scars at the surface, while delivering non-ablative wavelengths in your skin’s deeper layers to trigger deeper tissue repair. Harnessing the powers of the Halo laser in NYC, we address discolored, raised, and indented scars from acne, surgery, and injury—while improving your skin’s long-term resilience.
How do I prepare for my Halo laser treatment?
Halo offers extensive results without extensive downtime, requiring minimal preparation. However, following these simple steps to protect your skin in the weeks leading up to your treatment maximizes your results.
For at least 2 weeks before your appointment, avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds, as sunburned and tanned skin is more sensitive to laser energy. Avoid scheduling abrasive skin treatments, such as chemical peels, during this time. You should also discontinue the use of any harsh skincare products, such as exfoliants and retinoids, at least 5 days before treatment.
During your consultation, we’ll review your medication use and may advise temporary changes, such as avoiding blood-thinning medications (if permitted by your primary care doctor) for the week leading up to your appointment. On the day of treatment, please arrive with clean skin, free of makeup and skincare products. After completing your Halo treatment, our experts will provide detailed aftercare instructions to expedite the short healing process and extend your results.
How is the Halo laser different from BBL HERO?
BBL HERO and Halo technology may look similar, but unlike Halo, BBL is not a true laser. BBL stands for broadband light—an advanced form of intense pulsed light (IPL). The HERO device we use to perform an IPL photofacial harnesses different kinds of light energy to address concerns rooted in different layers of your skin.
However, BBL does not break your skin’s surface, so it can’t address all of the same concerns as Halo. Neither technology is universally better than the other, but rather more effective for specific skin conditions. Typically, we recommend BBL HERO to address redness, sun spots, and vascular concerns near the skin’s surface. For individuals with concerns rooted beneath the surface, such as collagen loss, we can use the Halo laser in NYC to provide deeper renewal.
How long do results from the Halo laser last?
While every patient responds differently, most enjoy their results for about 6 to 12 months after completing their treatment plan with the Halo laser in NYC. Depending on your age, skin type, and how you take care of your skin, your results may vary.
Keep in mind that your lifestyle also affects your skin’s health and appearance, and protecting your skin from the sun helps extend your results. Our professionals also recommend upgrading your at-home skincare regimen with medical-grade products, which are required to pass rigorous clinical trials—unlike drugstore formulas.
How many Halo laser treatments will I need?
While most people see improvements after a single treatment with the Halo laser in NYC, we typically recommend a series of 3 treatments for the most noticeable, long-lasting results. However, we design every patient’s treatment plan to reflect their unique needs, so we’ll determine your exact treatment schedule during your consultation.
You’ll notice a difference in your complexion about a week after each treatment, but your results will continue to build for weeks as your collagen levels rise and your skin rebuilds. After completing your initial series of treatments, we’ll help you create a maintenance schedule to keep your collagen levels at optimal levels and extend your youthful glow.
How should I care for my skin after Halo?
Protecting your skin as it responds to treatment is key to maximizing your long-term results from the Halo laser. During the first few days after treatment, you may experience some flaking and/or redness—similar sensations to those of a mild sunburn. This is a natural response that you should allow your body to complete on its own, so do not pick at or exfoliate your skin.
Your provider will recommend gentle skincare products to use during this time, such as a gentle cleanser and a lightweight moisturizer. Sun protection is essential not only for healing, but also for maintaining your results from Halo and preserving your skin’s overall health. While you should stay out of direct sunlight until your skin has fully healed, we recommend applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day.
What’s the difference between Halo and Moxi?
Both Halo and Moxi are fractional lasers designed to improve skin quality, but they work at different depths. While Halo combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths, the Moxi laser only uses non-ablative wavelengths.
This makes Moxi a less intensive option, requiring less downtime than the Halo laser in NYC. Often used for “prejuvenation,” Moxi is ideal for addressing early signs of skin damage and aging to maintain a youthful complexion. However, Moxi doesn’t have the power to trigger deep skin renewal, making Halo a more effective option for more severe scars, wrinkles, and sun damage.
Both lasers have their strengths. In some cases, we combine them for comprehensive skin renewal, or use Moxi to preserve collagen between Halo treatments.

Dr Pearlman, his surgical nurse Christine, and his anesthesiologist Dr Morena are wonderful. I had a rhinoplasty septoplasty and deep plane face lift 10 weeks ago today and I am thrilled with the results. Dr Pearlman is meticulous and took the time to answer all of my questions. I was given detailed pre and post op instructions and when I had a few questions about the healing process during the first few weeks post-op, Christine responded immediately with the answers to my questions. My biggest concern wasn't the surgery because I was confident in my choice of Dr Pearlman to perform the surgeries but rather being under anesthesia for 6 hours. Dr Morena called me, explained the process and assured me of the safety of anesthesia. I am very pleased with the outcome.I can breathe so much better, my nose is straight and my neck and face look lifted! I highly recommend Dr Pearlman!

Experienced and efficient, I left feeling even more confident then when I walked in. Thank you again! The staff was so kind and the office was beautiful. Highly recommend.
