Welcome to Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery for CO2 laser resurfacing in NYC on Park Avenue.

Enter a new generation of CO2 lasers that offer surgery-like results without the risks or inconvenient recovery time. The CO2 laser is considered the most effective weapon for combating wrinkles, aging and many other skin imperfections. By harnessing focused beams of light energy, CO2 laser resurfacing works at a cellular level to remove damaged skin while stimulating collagen renewal beneath the surface. This precise approach allows our expert providers to target concerns such as fine lines, acne scars, and sun damage without harming the surrounding tissue.

Unlike older resurfacing techniques, CO2 systems deliver powerful results with shorter downtime and customizable treatment depths. Thus, this type of resurfacing treatment is suitable for a wide range of skin types and conditions. The results? Firmer, more even-toned skin that continues to improve over time as collagen production gradually increases. CO2 laser resurfacing in NYC bridges medical science and modern aesthetics for truly transformative rejuvenation.

Full Face Skin Rejuvenation

This laser treatment adds fractional technology that allows treatment from a light peel to deep full face skin rejuvenation.

This fractionated CO2 laser makes thousands of microscopic wounds, leaving normal bridges of skin that stimulate healing and collagen production.

Results are almost comparable to a full-face resurfacing with a much shorter healing time. We can customize treatments to your skin type, desired effect, and allowable recovery period.

Since we can vary the depth of penetration of the laser, the distance between “dots” and how long we treat each area, there is excellent control over healing time and clinical results. Many patients opt for multiple treatments spaced out over a few months to reduce recovery time to less than a few days, yet with results akin to a much deeper treatment.

Treatments using this laser range from a single treatment with up to a week of a recovery period to a light treatment after which you will look like you had moderate sunburn. We can fine-tune the wattage and spacing of the penetration points.

Summer Peel

We perform summer peels every few weeks, up to 5 treatments. Since the benefits are additive, we group them as a package. If you get treated on Friday, you can be back to work Monday. You can apply makeup immediately after treatments. These lighter CO2 summer peels are designed to deliver visible skin renewal with minimal downtime. This makes them an excellent choice for patients seeking to maintain their glow between deeper resurfacing sessions or those who prefer a gradual approach to rejuvenation.

Because these peels are less invasive, they fit well into a hectic schedule, offering a quick and effective enhancement before events or photos. Regular treatment sessions can help prevent the accumulation of sun damage throughout the warmer months of the year, when deeper lasers aren’t as advisable. Combined with diligent sun protection and professional skincare, summer CO2 laser resurfacing in NYC helps patients sustain a youthful, radiant complexion all year round, without disrupting their schedule.

Weekend Peel

A weekend peel is 3 peels. We call it weekend peel since it takes about 3 days to recover from the redness and be able to apply makeup. 3 peels can almost equal one deep or ablative laser treatment that would otherwise have 1 week or more of recovery time. This resurfacing approach is ideal for patients who want visible skin rejuvenation with minimal disruption to their daily routine and schedules. Each peel gently resurfaces the upper layers of the skin, encouraging new cell turnover and collagen production without the intensity or downtime associated with more intense CO2 resurfacing treatments.

When performed in a series, these light treatments can significantly improve fine lines, photodamage, and uneven texture while maintaining the integrity of your skin barrier. Many of our patients appreciate that they can return to work or their plans by Monday, with only a healthy glow and mild pinkness, making this an excellent “maintenance” option between more intense CO2 laser resurfacing in NYC

Pearl Lift®

The Pearl Lift® yields brighter, more taut and voluminous skin and is available only at Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery. This exciting fresh approach to stackable treatments offers facial rejuvenation with outstanding results that can last as long as 3 or more years. We start with Ultherapy and tightening the underlying facial structures including the SMAS and Platysma. SMAS and Platysma are the actual structures Dr. Pearlman lifts and pulls to yield maximal, yet natural results during a surgical facelift.

After we treat the deeper supporting structures of the face, we then smooth surface wrinkles with the Dot™ fractionated CO2 laser. That way we rejuvenate the skin inside and out. Treatment starts with oral and topical sedation only. Recovery time depends on the depth of skin resurfacing with the Dot™ laser chosen (see above).

Nothing can substitute for a full facelift and ablative CO2 laser resurfacing; but for those who do not want surgery and prolonged healing and downtime, the Pearl Lift® is for you.

Madonna Eye Lift

This technique improves wrinkles around the eyes and dark circles, tightens and elevates the eyelids. The Madonna Lift gained popularity because of its namesake. It uses the Co2 laser to treat upper and lower eyelid skin. Treatments take less than 10 minutes (after we apply topical anesthesia for 15 minutes). We treat patients from 3 to 5 times once every 6 weeks. After each treatment, most patients can return to work or their daily activities in 3 days. Depending on how each individual patient heals after the first treatment and how much recovery time they can afford. You can plan subsequent treatments accordingly.

The Madonna eye lift works by delivering precise fractional laser energy to the skin around the eyes, stimulating collagen and elastin production. This controlled process firms and smooths crepey skin, subtly lifting the brows and lids for a more youthful, rested look.

Many of our patients notice a gradual brightening of the under-eye area and a reduction in fine lines in a single session, with cumulative improvements occurring in the weeks and months post-procedure. Because it’s a non-surgical treatment, there are no incisions, sutures, or extended downtime required—just a gentle renewal from within. The Madonna eye lift is an excellent option for those who want to rejuvenate tired-looking eyes or begin prejuvenation treatments while maintaining natural-looking results.

Full Face and Neck Laser Fractionated Resurfacing

For those who are ready for a more aggressive treatment with up to a week of recovery, we can use the laser to perform full face and neck resurfacing. This comprehensive approach allows us to address advanced signs of photoaging, deeper lines, and more pronounced texture irregularities and wrinkles that may not fully respond to light or spot resurfacing procedures. By treating both the face and the neck in one session, we’re able to create a smooth transition in skin tone and quality, working to rejuvenate the neck and jawline for even, seamless rejuvenation above the neckline.

During full-face and neck CO2 resurfacing in NYC, fractional laser energy targets microscopic columns of damaged skin while leaving the surrounding tissue intact and unharmed. This controlled pattern promotes faster healing and enhances collagen regeneration, while still achieving substantial rejuvenation. Treatment parameters are tailored to each patient’s specific concerns, allowing us to precisely refine tone, elasticity, and deeper wrinkles.

While downtime can last several days to a week, most patients describe the results as quite transformative, noticing firmer, brighter, and smoother skin that continues to improve in the months following the procedure as new collagen forms. With diligent aftercare, proper sun protection, and maintenance treatments when needed, these improvements can last for years.

Recovery

Before you receive CO2 laser resurfacing in NYC at Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery, we always recommend a skin consultation. During this, we will examine your skin, discuss your specific goals and concerns, and your expectations from a Fractionated CO2 laser treatment. These factors help us determine the best treatment plan for you.

Our one-on-one consultations are designed to be both informative and collaborative. Our providers take the time to assess not only your skin’s current condition, but also your medical history, lifestyle habits, and any previous aesthetic treatments you may have already received. This ensures that your CO2 resurfacing in NYC is personalized and aligned with your overall rejuvenation goals.

At Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery, we believe that education is empowerment. By truly understanding your options and the science behind CO2 laser technology, you can move forward with your treatment in confidence, knowing your laser procedure will be tailored to achieve natural, balanced, and lasting improvements in your skin.

The procedure for Fractionated CO2 laser lasts 10 to 30 minutes, depending on treatment areas. We place a topical anesthetic for 20 to 30 minutes before beginning the treatment process. Your provider will then use the device to treat your planned treatment area(s) with the CO2 laser.

After the numbing agent has taken effect, your provider will gently guide the handheld CO2 laser device over the treatment zone, delivering a series of micro-ablative pulses through the skin in a finely fractionated pattern. These tiny columns of laser energy precisely target damaged or aged skin, while leaving the surrounding tissue largely intact. This fractionated pattern helps to optimize healing by preserving healthy skin between pulses.

Once the passes of the CO2 laser are complete, the treated skin may appear slightly red, with a warm sensation that typically subsides shortly after the procedure. Your provider will give you personalized aftercare instructions, outlining the products and measures to take to support effective healing. Recovery after your CO2 resurfacing in NYC will vary, depending on what type of treatment you received.

Milder resurfacing treatments typically only require a few days of light recovery, while more intensive treatments may require closer to a week. During this recovery period, it’s crucial to follow your aftercare instructions.

Once we finish your treatment, your skin will need a certain amount for a recovery period based on the treatment version. We will provide you with guidelines to ensure that your skin heals in the best manner possible. As a highly advanced resurfacing technique, Fractionated CO2 laser is designed to transform your skin from within.

Immediately after treatment, you can expect your skin to appear red, sensitive, and potentially slightly swollen. Often, post-resurfaced skin is compared to sunburned skin. In the days following treatment, you may experience some peeling or flaking, as the treated skin begins to loosen and shed. It is important not to pick or pull at this skin, and to instead allow it to shed on its own naturally.

Following your recovery period, which will vary depending on what type of CO2 resurfacing in NYC you received, you can expect a visible transformation in skin tone, texture, and overall luminosity. Fine lines and wrinkles should begin to soften as new collagen and elastin fibers form beneath the surface of the skin. This restores a smoother, firmer foundation to the skin, while helping fade sun damage, age spots, and other pigmentation issues.

Because fractional CO2 lasers stimulate the body’s natural healing process, results are progressive and long-lasting. With proper sun protection, skincare, and maintenance, these improvements can potentially last for years, offering a more youthful, refreshed appearance that looks natural and rejuvenated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fractionated CO2 Laser

Can CO2 laser resurfacing help with acne scars or texture irregularities?

Absolutely. Fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing is one of the most effective options for reducing the appearance of acne scars, pitted scars, and rough or uneven skin texture. By carefully and precisely removing the outer, damaged layers of the skin and stimulating collagen production within the deeper layers, the treatment helps to smooth skin irregularities from the inside out.

Over time, the surface of the skin will become softer and more uniform as scar depths diminish. Patients with long-lasting scars often notice dramatic differences after just one session, with ongoing improvements after the initial treatment. Depending on the severity of the scar, additional CO2 resurfacing treatments may be recommended.

Does CO2 laser resurfacing hurt?

With oral sedation if you have someone to escort you home. Pronox is an option where you will not need an escort home. We also use a special chilling machine, and many patients tolerate the Dot CO2 laser treatment very well.

How does fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing work?

CO2 laser resurfacing is a highly advanced aesthetic treatment that is able to target both the surface and the deeper layers of the skin to promote noticeable and lasting rejuvenation. The CO2 laser delivers precise energy in a fractional pattern, creating microscopic channels in the skin while leaving the surrounding tissue undamaged. This works to stimulate the body’s natural healing process while encouraging new collagen and elastin production. Both collagen and elastin are essential proteins found in the body that work to give our skin its structure, firmness, and resilience.

By removing the damaged, outer layers of the skin, CO2 laser resurfacing reveals the fresh, smoother skin that was trapped underneath, while the deeper stimulation encourages long-term improvement to texture, tone, and elasticity. This dual-action approach allows CO2 resurfacing to address a wide range of concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven pigmentation, acne scarring, and enlarged pores—all in a single treatment.

How long does CO2 laser resurfacing take to heal?

How long your CO2 laser resurfacing takes to heal all depends on your chosen treatment type. The shorter healing times are for Summer Peel and Weekend Peel. The strongest treatment option, Full Face and Neck Deka Dot™ Laser Fractionated Resurfacing, can take up to a week to heal.

What kind of results can I expect from CO2 laser resurfacing?

CO2 laser resurfacing can deliver some of the most transformative results available in modern non-surgical skin rejuvenation. Following a treatment, patients can expect noticeably smoother, firmer, and more even-toned skin as the body begins its natural healing and collagen renewal process. In the first few weeks post-procedure, many patients see a visible refinement in texture and clarity: fine lines appear softer, and areas of discoloration or sun damage begin to fade.

As collagen and elastin continue to build beneath the surface of the skin, these improvements become more and more pronounced. Over the next several months, the skin will become gradually tighter and more resilient, coupled with a healthy glow. Acne scars and deeper wrinkles will become less noticeable, pores can appear smaller, and the skin’s overall tone will look brighter and more balanced.

What will I look like immediately after the procedure?

Right after CO2 laser resurfacing, you will look like you’ve had a bad sunburn. This will gradually fade to reveal your beautiful results as your skin heals and rejuvenates from within.
