Recovery
Before your treatment with a Moxi laser in NYC, you’ll sit down for an in-depth consultation with one of our skincare specialists. Everyone’s skin is different and has unique needs, which makes a personalized consultation the best way to develop your treatment plan. We often use Visia for advanced skin analysis and to help track the results of your treatment.
During the consultation, we’ll examine your skin, discuss your goals, and answer any questions you have about the treatment.
Treatment with the Moxi laser only takes about 15 minutes for the full face and is gentle enough that there’s no need for an anesthetic.
We typically recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced 4 to 5 weeks apart for your initial treatment. After that, patients typically come in once or twice a year for maintenance treatments.
The Moxi laser is designed to provide effective results with little to no downtime. You may experience some redness and flaking, but you’ll be able to wear makeup 24 hours after the procedure.
As with any laser treatment, it’s important to protect your skin from the sun while it is healing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Moxi Laser
Does the Moxi laser work for darker skin tones?
The Moxi laser targets water in the skin, not melanin pigment, making it safe for all skin types all year round.
How long do the results last?
Results from Moxi can last for years with maintenance treatments. As with any laser treatment, results can vary depending on your age, genetics, and how you care for your skin.
How soon can I get Moxi laser before an event?
We recommend getting Moxi done at least a couple of weeks before any big social events. While the Moxi laser doesn’t have a lot of downtime for recovery, you want to make sure your skin has the time to adjust prior to your event. Sometimes after laser treatments, our body produces mends, which are dark spots of damage making their way to the surface before sloughing off. Giving yourself 2 weeks will allow you time to get through this process.
Who is the ideal Moxi laser patient?
Most of the patients we see for Moxi laser in NYC are in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. But Moxi can be used for anyone looking to brighten and refresh their skin.
