Neck Lift
A neck lift is a lesser-known form of plastic surgery, used to improve the neck’s appearance. It is typically combined with a lower facelift. Often, if you rejuvenate the neck and you have big jowls on your lower face, the lower face will look worse once the neck is youthful. However, a neck can be performed alone on younger patients who do not have significant skin laxity.
Some patients are candidates for neck lifts only, depending on their age, skin quality, and goals. Male patients are often candidates for neck lifts alone.
How it works
During a neck lift, excess skin is removed and/or redraped, and the remaining skin is surgically tightened. Fat deposits can also be removed, making the neck look slimmer and improving the contours below your jawline.
Am I a candidate?
Neck lifts are suitable for patients with mild to moderate signs of aging in the neck. You’re the right candidate for a neck lift if you’re self-conscious about your hanging skin tissues, wrinkles, excess fullness, poor jawline definition or other signs of aging.
During your consultation, Dr. Pearlman or Dr. Bassiri-Tehrani will examine your medical history and neck anatomy and discuss your cosmetic goals to determine if you’re a suitable candidate for a neck lift.
There is no typical age for a neck lift. Some patients have full necks that may need treatment in their 30s and can range upwards from there. As patients approach their mid to late 50s, a neck lift is often combined with lifting the jowls in a cheek/neck lift or facelift. Neck and Chin Liposuction
