Welcome to Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery for IPL photofacials in NYC on Park Avenue.
Our BBL HERO treatment uses Broad Band Light as one of the latest non-invasive skin resurfacing techniques to achieve younger-looking skin, with less visible signs of aging.
What is an IPL photofacial?
IPL refers to Intense Pulsed Light.
This is an alternative to traditional laser techniques and is also known as a photofacial, since its primary means of skin rejuvenation is through the power of light. BBL HERO is a device designed with unique dual lamp technology.
BBL stands for Broad Band Light, and HERO stands for High Energy Rapid Output; this is the newest technology from Sciton which creates a safer, faster, and more effective treatment.
This system provides the precise amount of energy that is necessary to improve appearance of the skin in the targeted area, all with minimal to no recovery time. Every patient’s treatment is 100% tailored to meeting their specific needs to ensure desired results.

Frequently Asked Questions
BBL HERO
How many IPL treatments does it take to see results?
Though you will see immediate results, we recommend 3 IPL treatments and maintenance treatments as needed for the best results. This ensures the best chance for long-term results from an IPL photofacial.
How often should you get an IPL photofacial?
This can depend on your skin and how long your results last. Typically, our patients’ IPL photofacial results last for 6 months, allowing them to get a BBL HERO photofacial twice a year for maintenance at minimum. A skin professional at Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery can help you determine how often you should get an IPL photofacial.
Is IPL or microneedling better?
No two patients’ skin is exactly alike, and neither are their concerns. In general, we recommend you to rank your highest priority skin concerns before deciding between IPL or microneedling. IPL tends to be better for pigment issues and signs of aging, while microneedling helps to treat acne and scar concerns.
